Members

informal way. Each person
works on her own project. The
group meets on the first Friday of each month at a member’s house.

Book
groups meet at local coffee shops. Titles
are selected from among member recommendations.

after Dark: Meets
at 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday alternate months.

Discussion Group: Meets
at 10 a.m. the second Friday of the month.

BOWLING
This
group meets every Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. Members pay to rent shoes and
for their games. The Bowling
group plays informally and is not in a league. |

BRIDGE
Bridge groups meet in members' homes.
Friday
Fun Bridge: Meets
the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month at 9:45 a.m. It
is designed for players of intermediate level or better.
The hostess provides a light lunch.
Saturday
Evening Bridge: This
activity meets twice a month at 7:30 p.m. Bring a partner (male or
female), an appetizer, and your own beverages.
All levels are welcome.
Intermediate
Fun Bridge: This
group meets weekly, at 10 a.m., usually the 1st, 4th and 5th Wednesdays and the 2nd
and 3rd Mondays.
The group has all levels of players, from novice to skilled
players, who are willing to teach newcomers the game.
The hostess typically serves a light lunch.

BUNCO
Bunco
meets the second Friday of each month at 10 a.m. in a member’s home.
The group plays approximately two hours.
Lunch is planned by the hostess. |

COOKING
Meets
the 3rd
Thursday of every month at a member’s home.
Participants learn to make delicious recipes.
The cost is divided equally among participants.

DINING OUT
Dining
Out meets the 2nd
Saturday evening of every other month.
It is open to couples or singles.
A different restaurant is selected every month.
Each couple or person receives a separate check. |

GOLF
The
group meets on Monday at 8:30 a.m. at a public golf course.
There are a few good golfers, but there are also plenty of
beginners and perennial high-handicappers.
The emphasis is on having fun, and not losing too many golf balls.
So provided you have played a few rounds of golf before and know
some of the rules and etiquette, come and join the group. The format
varies each week, as do the playing partners, so you get to know everyone.
After playing, most of the members stay on for a light lunch in the
clubhouse.

ICE SKATING
This
group usually meets the 1st
Friday of every month at a public rink.
Costs include admission and skate rental. |

LADIES' DAY
OUT
Ladies’
Day Out is a monthly outing to an area place of interest.
It usually includes a guided tour and lunch.
Attendees meet at a designated place to form car pools.
The car pool riders compensate the drivers with money for gas
and/or tolls (the amount depends on the distance driven).
Each attendee pays for her own expenses for the day.

LINE DANCING
This
event meets every Thursday from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.
It’s open to all members whatever their experience.
Smooth soled shoes are all you need.
The group’s aims are to have fun, learn many dances, and maybe
burn off a few pounds. |

MIX 'N'
MINGLE
This
activity is a pot luck lunch held at members’ homes.
The hostess provides drinks, and participants sign up to bring an
array of other foods, consistent with that lunch’s theme.

MOVIE MATINEE
This
group meets the 4th
Tuesday of each month for an afternoon movie.
Costs are limited to the price of admission and snacks.

OUT TO LUNCH
BUNCH
This
is a small group that meets once a month on various days.
It is a wonderful way to explore different restaurants and cuisine
in the Houston area. Each
attendee pays for her selection.

PLAY READING
The
group meets the second Saturday evening of alternate months at members’
homes. Impromptu reading of
the parts does not need rehearsal or casting.
The fee is limited to the cost of copying plays.
Snacks or pot luck are served according to the group’s decision.
Spouses are welcome as readers or audience.

SCRAPBOOKING
The
Scrapbook group meets monthly on the 1st Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at
members' homes. Members bring
their photos to organize or put into scrapbooks and are responsible for
supplying their own materials.
Refreshments are provided by the hostess or other members of the
group.

THEATRE GROUP
The
Theatre group meets on a monthly basis to attend a local theatre in
Houston. The group attends
some matinees and some evening plays.
This activity is open to members and their husbands.

WINE TASTING
Wine
Tasting takes place the fourth Saturday of the month at a member’s home.
The host and hostess select five wines for the evening. Each couple
brings a hearty appetizer to share. The
hosts provide desserts and coffee, and the guests provide scintillating
chat and laughter. The hosts
are reimbursed ($12 per person) for the wine.
